​Counselling

I offer counselling in the form of either face to face meetings, via Skype or private 'online chat' sessions. My main approach is 'person-centred' counselling, putting you at the heart of the counselling sessions. I do not analyse, interpret or judge. I accept you for who you are, as an individual. 


Face to face counselling

The most effective counselling is by face to face. What you receive will be one-to-one, confidential counselling sessions in a safe, quiet, private therapy room in Darlington town centre. Sessions are relaxed and my aim is to make you feel at home and as comfortable as possible.


Online counselling

There are many reasons you might prefer counselling online. It may be more convenient or you may not feel able to come along to face to face counselling. 

I would much prefer to meet with you face to face as I believe it would be much more beneficial to you, but I understand it may not be easy for you. You may not live nearby or have transport, you may have mobility issues or it may be that you just feel a little more at ease in your own surroundings.

We can either talk via Skype, or chat in a private encrypted chat room. You will be able to express your thoughts, feelings, problems or concerns safe in the knowledge that I will respond with empathy, honesty and respect and try to offer new perspectives and insight for you to think about.  


Options for online counselling:

Skype: If this is your preferred option, we can set up a Skype call appointment. We will be able to talk face to face, wherever it is convenient/safe for you. 

Chatroom: ​We can chat online via a secure chat room called Chatcrypt, that only you and I will have temporary access to. Chatcrypt performs a military-class AES-256 CTR encryption on chat messages, so no one can read them except you and I. Messages are not saved or stored.
